All transport vehicles sent by winning bidders to our facility at 10101 S. Stony Island to pick up scrap materials will be weighed upon entry to establish a tare weight prior to removal of any scrap. It is the responsibility of the winning bidder to know the tare weight of the transport vehicles prior to weigh-in at our facility and identify (to City personnel) any discrepancies between these two weights prior to removal of any materials.
Once the winning bidders’ transport vehicles that have been loaded with scrap exit the City facility, it will be deemed that they have accepted the weights of materials removed. No disputes concerning weight will be accepted pursuant to the winning bidders’ removal of scrap or other weighed materials from the City’s facility.
