Description
Condition: FAIR
Talos Arctica, 200kV electron microscope, and the K3 camera.
ThermoFisher Scientific (TFS) Talos Arctica 200 kV transmission electron microscope (TEM) with Gatan K3 direct electron detector.  This microscope has been operated by the UCSF CryoEM Core facility since its purchase in 2017.  It has been maintained under service contract with TFS for its entire lifespan.  The microscope is in perfect working condition, with capability to visualize gold particles on a cross grating up to 1A resolution at sufficient magnification and minimal specimen drift (~0.1-0.2nm/min), and provides apoferritin reconstructions at ~1.9A resolution under standard imaging conditions (45,000x magnification, 0.865A/pix).  The Gatan K3 camera is in perfect condition, has been under service contract its entire lifespan, and is running Windows Server 2019.  For additional information, please don't hesitate to reach out to David Bulkley (davidbulkley@gmail.com, david.bulkley@ucsf.edu)
